BITSAT 2014 Paper Pattern

BITSAT 2014 Paper Pattern allows the aspirants to get an idea about the BITSAT 2014 Online Tests the engineering courses at the various campuses of BITS. Candidates are tested in the Class XI and XII Syllabus as per NCERT and the BITSAT 2014 is a computer based one with multiple questions. Candidates will also be tested in their English proficiency. BITSAT 2014 Paper Pattern:

• Candidates have to appear for an Online Test of 3 hours duration.
• The BITSAT exam comprises of four sections; one section for each subject as given in the table below.
• All questions asked in BITSAT 2014 will be of objective type / multiple choice questions with candidates required to choose one answer out of four options.
• The computer is programmed not to allow any candidate to choose more than one answer.
• Every correct answer carries 3 marks
• Every incorrect answer will be awarded -1 mark  
• Candidates can skip a question if they desire to and come back later to answer it
• The total number of questions in BITSAT 2014 will be 150 questions
• There is no time limit section wise for the test. Candidates can answer any questions, any sections and go back to edit their previous answers too within the 3 hour duration of BITSAT 2014.
• Any candidate capable of answering the 150 question within the specified time can attempt an additional 12 questions (four each from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry only).
• Candidates who choose to answer these extra 12 questions will not be able to go to the actual BITSAT exam to change any of the 150 answers completed previously.
• All questions and question Papers will be in English
• Candidates will be given different papers as the questions will be randomly selected from a large database by the computer.

Engineering Entrance Exam 2014

JEE MAIN 2014

JEE Main 2014 – CBSE had replaced the All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE) with JEE Main in 2013  with a focus of having one Common Entrance Examination for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs in NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical  Institutions, participating State Government Institutions etc. In 2014,  JEE Main exam  will be conducted in 235 locations for 5 lakh students

The list of states and Institutes which use JEE Main scores for admissions can be seen here . However prominent among them are Haryana,Uttarakhand, Nagaland, Gujarat, Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Indian Institute of Space Technology, Thiruvanathapuram, Delhi Technological University, Indian Institute of information Technology, New Delhi, Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology (under Delhi University).

Also The States of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Odisha have joined JEE Main system. Admission to Engineering Colleges in these states will also be through JEE MAIN 2014 Scores

The last Date to apply for JEE main has been extended to January 6, 2014

JEE Advanced 2014

JEE Advanced  Exam 2014 – For getting admissions to IITs, All Candidates have to first appear in JEE main Examination.  Only top 1, 50,000 candidates (including all categories) qualified in Paper-1 of JEE (Main) – 2014 will be eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) -2014 for admission to for admission to undergraduate courses at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar, Bombay, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Mandi, Patna, Punjab, Rajasthan, Roorkee, IT-BHU Varanasi, ISM Dhanbad

Karnataka CET

Karnataka CET 2014  – Karnataka Examination Authority conducts CET for admission to Engineering, Architecture and MBBS courses in the Sate of Karnataka. The Karnataka CET Notification should be out soon.  For Admission to Private Engineering Colleges , The Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (ComedK) Bangalore, announced the Undergraduate Entrance Test Dates . 

EAMCET 2014

Admission to Engineering Colleges in Andhra Pradesh will be through EAMCET 2014. The Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test  EAMCET 2014 has been scheduled on May 17. The notification would be issued on February 10 whereas results will be out on June 9.

BITSAT 2014

BITSAT-2014 – BITSAT  is a Computer based online test for Admission to Integrated First Degree Programmes of BITS Pilani Campuses in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. The Last Date to apply is 15th Feb. 2014

BITSAT 2014 Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must have completedtheir 10+2 from a recognized Board in the country
• Candidates who will be appearing for their Class XII or equivalent in 2014 are also eligible to apply for BITSAT 2014.
• Candidates must have secured a minimum of 75% in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry
• In addition, they must have secured a minimum of 60% in each subject separately.
• Candidates must be proficient in English.
• Candidates who have passed their 10+2 in  2012 or before are not eligible.

BITSAT 2014 Selection Procedure: on the basis of the performance of the candidates in the BITSAT 2014 and the Class XII marks.

BITSAT 2014 Paper Pattern:

• BITSAT 2014 is a Computer Based Online Test.
• Duration of BITSAT 2014 will be three hours with 150 multiple choice questions
• The BITSAT 2014 Question Paper will be divided into four sections:
  First section in Physics with 40 questions
  Second section in Chemistry with 40 questions
  Third section consists of questions to test the candidate’s English Proficiency with 15 questions and Logical Reasoning with 10 questions
  Fourth section in Maths with 45 questions
• Each correct answer will get three marks each
• One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

BITSAT 2014 Application process:

The candidates can apply online at  www.bitsadmission.com. The filled application along with the DD of the application fee must reach the university office before the specified last date.

BITSAT 2014 Application Fees:  Rs.1900 for men and Rs.1400 for women

BITSAT 2014 Counselling Process:

• BITSAT 2014 Counselling will be for BITSAT qualified students on the basis of their merit ranks in the entrance exam.
• Candidates will have to apply online once the BITSAT 2014 Counselling call is announced and submit the printed copies to BITS Pilani.
• Candidates will have to submit their original certificates for verification before seat allotment.
• The requisite fees have to be paid upon seat allotment to confirm the admissions.
